European Heritage Days 2025
“Architectures: the art of building”
special opening and activities at the Firenze Forma Continua Lab
The Municipality of Florence, with the Municipal Museums Superintendent Service of the Department of Culture and Sports, participates in European Heritage Days 2025 (GEP 2025) under the theme “Architectures: the art of building”, the Italian interpretation of the European theme “Heritage and Architecture: Windows to the Past, Doors to the Future” inviting exploration of the rich and varied architectural landscape around us (https://cultura.comune.fi.it/dalle-redazioni/giornate-europee-del-patrimonio-2025).
The Forte di Belvedere Palazzina, an architectural work completed at the end of the 16th century by Buontalenti on the orders of Ferdinando I de’ Medici and a panoramic point of the city, will remain unusually open on Saturday 27 September in the evening until 23:00 (free entry with last admission at 22:00) with the possibility to visit, thanks to a guided tour, the installation of the “Firenze Forma Continua Lab”.
This installation, created together with the HeRe_Lab Innovation Laboratory (Department of Architecture – University of Florence) aims to disseminate the history and urban development of the city by involving citizens, students and visitors.
Additionally, for this occasion, at 20:00, 21:00 and 22:00 a free guided tour “Forme di città” for youth and adults is available, centered on imagining architectural profiles and understanding Florence’s cultural heritage, including values, knowledge and evolving traditions, with the support of the MUS.E Foundation.
